UPDATE - 2/4/2013 - We have submitted a final brief to the Supreme Court in our case against Wi-Fi in schools in Israel. The oral arguments will be heard this Wednesday, February 6^th, 2013.

UPDATE - THE CASE AGAINST WiFi IN SCHOOLS IN ISRAEL

In May I started to fight the Israeli Government against WiFi in schools and for acknowledgement of EHS. The correspondence led to the first written acknowledgment of the Government of EHS and to some change in the policy regarding WiFi in schools, however, that change was insufficient as the only rasonable policy is a complete ban of WiFi in schools. Therefore, on August 29^th, 2012, I submitted a case to the Israeli Supreme Court against the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection asking the court to order a ban of WiFI in Schools.

Immediately after the article about me was published in the Newspaper, Yediot, the paper received an especially nasty email from a known medical Professor, scolding them for publishing ‘rubbish’. He attached Rubin’s review of EHS and as many of you know, Rubin’s is a psychologist, whose papers are a scientific disgrace and he is heavily funded by the industry. Unfortunately nowadays any miserable scientist who is funded by the industry get a stage instead of sitting in jail for misleading the public. Following is the professor’s letter to the paper:

An Excellent article regarding EHS, following the publication of the letter by the 40 scientists "Smart Meters: Correcting the Gross Misinformation". A PETITION TO BAN WIFI IN SCHOOLS WAS SUBMITTED TO THE ISRAELI SUPREME COURT

This morning we have submitted a Petition to the Israeli Supreme Court requesting the SC to issue an injunction against the Ministry of Education and to order it to ban WIFI in Schools in Israel. UPDATE from 8-27-12

WIFI IN SCHOOLS IN ISRAEL - UPDATE

 While we* are trying to focus on the issue of EHS and has made some progress, the idea of WIFI in schools was so unacceptable to us, that we gave this issue priority while continuing to work on the EHS topic. After months of correspondence with the Ministry which yielded some changes, but only in its written approach:
 (1) The interministerial committee on the issue of WIFI acknowledged EHS in its final report
 (2) Following the report the Ministry of Education instructed the schools that "Wired Internet should be used unless it is impossible to install it".

However the Ministry's actions are rather different than its words. In effect, this summer most schools in Israel installed WIFI for the new year, with the encouragement of the Ministry of Education which has been pushing WIFI and wireless technologies into schools. We joined in with a parents' association in Israel, and engaged an attorney. A letter was sent on August 15th and gave the Ministry 5 days to announce that it is banning WIFI in schools or we would petition the Supreme Court for an Injunction.

 On August 20, we received a response from the Ministry, defending their actions, quoting their order not to use WIFI unless the installation of wired internet is not possible.

Today, August 21, we responded to the Gov. letter, providing evidence that the government is misleading the public and that in effect the Ministry of Education is pushing WIFI into schools. We reinstated our warning, and informed the Ministry that unless an order that Bans WIFI will be issued by August 22nd, we will petition to the Supreme Court. Cross your fingers!

HEBREW VERSION - 40 SCIENTISTS - Correcting the Gross Misinformation - Press Release in Hebrew

Recently, fourty leading scientists on the issue of electro-magnetic radiation ('EMR) from around the world, has issues a letter warning about the gross misinformation regarding the adverse health effects of the cellulare/wireless radiation. (To read the letter in English: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B0QsuOEB4bKBUGRiMHBJMkxEQjQ) They determined that EHS is a condition caused by EMR and it is in the scale of an epidemic, that 'Smart' Meters pose severe health risk, that a link between EMR and cancer was established and that there is persecution of scientists who find adverse health effects. In Israel we issued a press release regarding the letter.

HEBREW - "ISOLATED" - New Article About Dafna & EHS

July 19, 2012 - (My 3 year anniversary of EHS) Continuing our efforts to raise awareness of EHS and the dangers of WIFI in schools, we focused our attention on the Israeli city of Modiin. This is a relatively new city, primarily inhabited by young couples with children. Therefore, we decided to attack the issue of WIFI in schools
in this city. As a result of our work, last week a major newspaper in Modiin published a significant article about WIFI in schools, including a short column about Dafna. This week another major paper in the city published an article about Dafna & EHS and featured the article on the front page. Currently the article is only in Hebrew; translation to English will be provided shortly.

First Written Acknowledgment of EHS by the Israeli Government

Small/Big News: The Israeli Intergovernmental Committee on WIFI in Schools released its final report about a week ago. Unfortunately the Committee did not change its final recommendation and only stated a preference for wired Internet rather than wireless. However, due to our efforts the report does acknowledge EHS, as follows: “In the event a child is electro-sensitive we would handle such a case on an individual basis.” This is the first time an official document in Israel has made any reference to EHS and its correlation to electromagnetic radiation, which is a great achievement.

Although the report is primarily a sham and was actually written to facilitate installation of WIFI in schools by failing to ban it, we still believe our efforts were successful. Now that the government has acknowledged EHS in this report, we have better grounds to claim that installation of WIFI in schools is a violation of the duty of care.
This is especially true since it is clear the government does not have a plan for dealing with EHS, and the presence of WIFI in schools may actually be causing those children to become electro-sensitive.

WIFI in Schools - Round 2 - Response To The Government's Response

Following my letter demanding that WIFI would be banned in schools in Israel, on May 24, 2012, I received a rather disturbing response from the Israeli government. The response was defensive, continued with empty and misleading slogans and statements and asserted complete adherence to the WHO and the ICNIRP standards despite ample evidence that these institutions are political in nature and have been corrupted by the industry. Once again, the government proved that it is not the best interests of the children which are behind its actions. The question is, what are its motives? The Israeli Government policy on wireless technology led by Dr. Sigal Sadetzki has been outrageously negligent. While the ‘precautionary principle’ is being quoted often, in reality it is an empty slogan. Most recently, an inter-departmental committee on the issue of wireless technology in schools ‘recommended’ the use of wired LAN but DID NOT BAN Wi-Fi, and outrageously left the decision of whether or not to use Wi-Fi to the principles, who probably cannot even explain what electricity is, let alone electromagnetic radiation. The Ministry of Education has been using this decision to actually promote Wi-Fi in schools despite known and established adverse health effects of which Dr, Sadetzki has been ignoring including denying the existence of EHS. Following is my response to the position paper which is largely based on an affidavit given by Prof. David Carpenter

Please Do NOT Use Your Cell Phone to Call Me or Email Me

Like millions around the world I also suffer from Electro-sensitivity (EHS), a condition which is caused by radiation from cell phones, cell-towers, WI-FI, smart meters and other wireless sources. Because you are using your cell phone I cannot live, work and be in society. Because you are using your cell phone I cannot go to a doctor or a hospital or to court to enforce my rights. Whenever you are using your cell phone or even just carry it open you add to the extremely harmful levels of radiation in this world which is harming not only people with EHS but everyone including yourself, your children, your pets, and this planet and all its habitants.

The previous head of the World Health Organization, and the previous Prime Minister of Norway, a Physician in her profession, declared in 2004 that she suffers from EHS. I was always astound that although she is undoubtedly aware of the impossible and inhumane situation of people with EHS, and although she is the only EHS known to us who is in a position to help, it seems that she chose not to take action. However, last week she was in a conference in Waterloo Canada, and used a cell phone in the middle of her speech. It is one thing not to help it is quite another to actually harm. I wrote her a letter, one which was long due. 

Maine’s Children’s Wireless Protection Act - A Brave Attempt to Introduce Prudent Legislation By Maine Congress Woman Andrea Boland

In 2010, Maine Congresswoman Andrea Boland, brought a Bill to prudently protect children and provide a warning for the potential adverse effects of cell phones: ‘The Maine's Children Protection Act’. Unfortunately but NOT surprisingly, the Bill did not pass. Anyone who voted against it betraying the public  trust. I wonder if those Congress members would have voted against the Bill if they did not have immunity, if they would have carried personal criminal and tort liability. I doubt it. Immunity for public officials is the source of all evil. It is time to reconsider this policy. This letter was written to the media in support of the Bill. Not surprisingly, not even one media source published it. I wonder why...

Is the Karolinska Guilty of a Witch Hunt Against Prof. Olle Johansson Because He Fights for the Rights of the EHS?

Unfortunately, many scientists who has been discovering adverse health effects of Electromagnetic Radiation, especially those who are investigating EHS, are experiencing 'Witch Hunt'. Prof. Olle Johansson has been one of the very few scientists who has been advocating for the rights of people with EHS for decades. It seems that as a result, he has been having difficulties with the Karolinska Institute where he is employed. It is the same institution that chooses the Nobel Prize winners in science. It seems that it betrays the spirit of science and humanity which it is entrusted with. This letter has been written by me to the Karolinska Institute in support of Prof. Johansson.
